Allemand Sam kann nicht schlafen da er Angst vor der Dunkelheit hat die jede Nacht sein Zimmer ausfüllt. Er lässt sich von einer Ausgabe seines Lieblings-Superhelden-Comics Pyjama Man inspirieren, die Dinge selbst in die Hand zu nehmen. Sam reist mit seiner lila Pyjama-Sam-Maske (Signature-Edition), der All-Metal-Pyjama-Man-Lunchbox (Portable Bad Guy Containment Unit) und seiner Illuminator-Mark-5-Jr.-Taschenlampe in seinen Schrank und stürzt bald in das Land der Dunkelheit gestoppt von einer Gruppe aus Bäumen. Nachdem er sich von diesen befreit hat, macht er sich auf den Weg, um seine verlorene Ausrüstung zurückzugewinnen. Er freundet sich mit einem Boot namens Otto und einem Minenwagen namens King an, die Sam bei seiner aufregenden Suche helfen. Nach einer Aufgabe, die sich über einen Fluss, eine mit Lava gefüllte Mine und das Haus der Finsternis erstreckt, tritt Sam der Finsternis entgegen. Sam hat anfangs immer noch Angst, aber dann findet er, dass „Darkness“ freundlich ist. Die Dunkelheit sagt ihm, dass er nur einsam ist und einen Spielkameraden will. Nachdem die beiden das Spiel "Cheese and Crackers" (eine Variation von Tic-Tac-Toe) gespielt haben, verlässt Sam den Schrank und findet sich in seinem eigenen Zimmer wieder. Sam hat keine Angst mehr vor der Dunkelheit und schläft schnell ein.

Along the way help Sam collect his missing socks, and solve challenging puzzles to help Sam find his stuff.When you play different times getting Sam's stuff will seem easy, but as you play the game different times finding Sam's stuff gets harder. The game features collecting a lot of useful items such as an oil can, a pick axe and a magnet, and running into new friends such as Otto the boat and King the mine car.
