Anglais Roar of the Beast is the second Genesis game based on the Beauty and the Beast animated film, only this time the player does not control Belle but Beast throughout the entire game. It is not a sequel to the first game, as both games were released in the same year. This title largely retells the story from Beast's perspective. It starts with Beast living in a castle in the dark woods with his servants (Lumiere, Cogsworth and Mrs. Potts). A powerful storm hits the castle and enchants all animals around it. Initially the beast needs to protect the magic rose against the creatures. Soon, Belle and her father Maurice become involved, and eventually the villagers who invade the castle.

The game takes place in Beast's castle and the surrounding woods. Through side-scrolling platform gameplay Beast can attack from three different stances (crouch, stand up, jump) and unleash a limited amount of roars that stun enemies for a short time. After regular levels, a sequence with a boss follows. There are also a few mini-games where Beast needs to finish a puzzle and catch rosebuds. Certain events are time limited. The game keeps track of the player's score, based on defeated enemies and collected treasures. There is an unlimited amount of continues and the story is told through static, drawn cut-scenes between missions.

Non è un sequel del primo gioco, poiché entrambi i giochi sono stati rilasciati nello stesso anno. Questo titolo racconta in gran parte la storia dal punto di vista di Beast. Inizia con la Bestia che vive in un castello nel bosco oscuro con i suoi servi (Lumiere, Cogsworth e la signora Potts). Una potente tempesta colpisce il castello e incanta tutti gli animali che lo circondano. Inizialmente la bestia ha bisogno di proteggere la rosa magica dalle creature. Portugais Roar of the Beast é o segundo jogo de Mega Drive baseado no filme animado "A Bela e a Fera", só que desta vez o jogador não controla Bela, mas a Fera durante todo o jogo. Não é uma sequencia do primeiro jogo, já que ambos os jogos foram lançados no mesmo ano. Este título relata em grande parte a história a partir da perspectiva da Fera. Começa com a Fera morando em um castelo na floresta escura com seus servos (Lumière, Horloge e Madame Samovar). Uma tempestade poderosa atinge o castelo e encanta todos os animais ao redor. Inicialmente, a fera precisa proteger a mágica rosa contra as criaturas. Em seguida, Bela e seu pai, Maurice, se envolvem, e eventualmente os aldeões que invadem o castelo.

O jogo ocorre no castelo da Fera e na floresta ao redor. Através da jogabilidade de plataforma de rolagem lateral, a Fera pode atacar de três posições diferentes (agachar, levantar-se, pular) e desencadear uma quantidade limitada de rugidos que atordoam inimigos por um curto período de tempo. Após fases regulares, segue-se uma sequência com um chefão. Há também alguns mini-jogos onde Fera precisa terminar um quebra-cabeça e pegar pétalas de rosa. Certos eventos são de tempo limitado. O jogo acompanha a pontuação do jogador, com base em inimigos derrotados e tesouros coletados. Há uma quantidade ilimitada de continues e a história é contada através de cutscenes estáticas e desenhadas entre as missões.
