Anglais The sequel to the chaotic off-road rally racing game, Rally Cross. The lead programmer, Mark Lyons, and the lead artist, Scott Atkins, from Rally Cross had left Sony and formed a new company, Idol Minds. Rally Cross 2 was one of the first two games developed by Idol Minds. It was an attempt to build on the original, while creating a game with a simpler learning curve.

Rally Cross 2 retains the rough terrain of the original, with even more jumps and crashes. Multi-tap and 4 player split screen were not included in the sequel, but 2 player split screen remained. The ability to control attributes such as suspension, tires, and steering was added, as well as the ability to paint your car with a primary and detail color that can be picked from a large palette.

Once again the courses can be raised forwards or backwards, and in suicide mode(cars racing in opposite directions at the same time). The multi-race, season mode, still exists. One of the biggest additions is the track editor. There are a dozen or so different pieces that can be rotated and dropped into a 2D grid to create completely new tracks.

The cars are still flipped upright with the shoulder buttons, but it now requires only a single button press instead of the multiple rocking motions in the original. Handling has changed significantly since cars tend to fishtail around the corners instead of flip, but high speed crashes will still result in an upside down car.
Espagnol La secuela de Rally Cross programada por Idol Minds, conservó el espíritu arcade de la primera entrega, con unos buenos gráficos, el juego ya no permitía jugar hasta 4 jugadores gracias al multitap, como ocurría en la primera parte, pero si se mantuvo el modo a 2 jugadores. Con respecto a la primera entrega, se agregó la capacidad de controlar aspectos previos del coche, como la suspensión, los neumáticos, la dirección, así como la capacidad de pintar el automóvil al que color que queramos.

El juego cuenta con 10 vehículos a elegir y 8 circuitos, que también cuenta con un editor interno, para poder crear tantos circuitos como queramos. Un juego muy divertido, que aunque no llegase a la calidad de V-Rally o Colin McRae Rally, es un juego a tener en cuenta dentro de los juegos de Rally en PlayStation.

Rally Cross 2 mantiene il terreno accidentato dell'originale, con ancora più salti e incidenti. Multi-tap e schermo diviso per 4 giocatori non sono stati inclusi nel sequel, ma è rimasto lo schermo diviso per 2 giocatori. È stata aggiunta la capacità di controllare attributi come sospensioni, pneumatici e sterzo, nonché la possibilità di dipingere la tua auto con un colore primario e di dettaglio che può essere scelto da un'ampia tavolozza.

Ancora una volta i percorsi possono essere aumentati in avanti o indietro e in modalità suicida (le auto corrono contemporaneamente in direzioni opposte). La modalità multi-gara, stagione, esiste ancora. Una delle più grandi aggiunte è l'editor di tracce. Ci sono una dozzina di pezzi diversi che possono essere ruotati e inseriti in una griglia 2D per creare tracce completamente nuove.
Le auto sono ancora ribaltate in posizione verticale con i pulsanti sulla spalla, ma ora richiede solo una singola pressione del pulsante invece dei molteplici movimenti di oscillazione nell'originale. La manovrabilità è cambiata in modo significativo poiché le auto tendono a sbandare dietro gli angoli invece di ribaltarsi, ma gli incidenti ad alta velocità si tradurranno comunque in un'auto capovolta.
