Die Mannschaftsaufstellungen sind nach Positionen unterteilt und werden individuell nach Fähigkeiten bewertet, mit Positions-Upgrade-Paketen, Handicaps für die Spielerfähigkeiten sowie aktuellen NFL-Offensiv- und Defensiv-Spielbuchausrichtungen. Du coachst nicht nur von der Seitenlinie aus, sondern kontrollierst auch alle Bewegungen der Spieler auf dem Spielfeld: Laufen, Passen, Fangen, Kicken, Werfen, Springen, Tackeln, Blocken und Springen. Die Schiedsrichter sprechen sogar Strafen aus. Egal, was für ein Fan du bist, ob du das Regelwerk in- und auswendig kennst oder nur gelegentlich ein Spiel im Fernsehen siehst... dies ist das einzige Football-Spiel, das du haben musst!

Anglais It's very simple... the NFL is football and this is the only officially licensed NFL game for the NES... the closest thing to "real" professional football that you can play without a helmet and shoulder pads. You can select any of the American and National Conference teams, and if you're good enough, you can take them all the way to the Super Bowl! Team rosters are broken down into positions and individually rated according to skills, with position upgrade packages, player ability handicapping, actual NFL Offensive and Defensive Playbook alignments with audibles and even variable wind direction and strength. You not only coach from the sidelines, you also control all the movements of the players on the field. Run, pass, catch, kick, punt, jump, tackle, block and dive... Refs even call penalties. No matter what kind of fan you are, whether you know the rulebook inside-out or just watch an occasional game on TV... this is the one football game you've got to have!

Espagnol Un juego de fútbol que presenta tanto un modo de exhibición como un modo de postemporada. El juego presenta todos los nombres y logotipos reales de la época.

El modo de exposición permite al jugador seleccionar un equipo y jugar con otro jugador o con la computadora. El jugador también puede seleccionar un modo de demostración donde dos equipos controlados por computadora se enfrentarán entre sí. El modo de playoff presenta a 12 equipos que compiten por la posibilidad de ganar el Super Bowl.

Durante el juego, el campo se ve principalmente desde una perspectiva horizontal. Los jugadores seleccionan sus jugadas (pase, corre o patea) y tratan de superar a sus oponentes antes de que se acabe el tiempo.
