Allemand Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders spielt im Jahr 1997, in einer Zeit, in der die Menschheit dümmer ist als je zuvor. Der Grund: Außerirdische haben eine Dummheitsmaschine entwickelt, die langsam den Intelligenzquotienten der Menschen senkt. Ausgerechnet der Boulevard-Reporter Zak McKracken, bekannt für seine absurden Geschichten über vegetarische Vampire und fleischfressenden Blumenkohl, ist der Einzige, der die Aliens aufhalten kann. Doch niemand nimmt ihm seine Geschichte ab – bis auf Annie, die Anführerin einer archäologischen Gesellschaft, sowie Leslie und Melissa, zwei Freundinnen, die mit einem umgebauten Wohnmobil zum Mars gereist sind. Gemeinsam müssen sie uralte Rätsel lösen, die Aliens entlarven und die Dummheitsmaschine zerstören, bevor es zu spät ist.

Anglais Zak McKracken is a tabloid reporter (and not a very good one at that). Based upon a psychadelic dream, Zak one day realizes that something is wrong -- Space Aliens are dumbifying the general public through the telephone system. Zak must stop this, but he can't do it alone. After finding a magic crystal (or some sort of crystal), Zak manages to get the help of Anthropologist, Annie, and her friends, Melissa and Leslie. Between the four characters (all of which you control), you can destroy the dumbifying devices and save the earth. Not too bad for a tabloid reporter.
Espagnol Zak McKracken es un periodista sensacionalista (y no muy bueno en eso). Basándose en un sueño psicodélico, Zak un día se da cuenta de que algo anda mal: los alienígenas espaciales están atontando al público en general a través del sistema telefónico. Zak debe detenerlo, pero no puede hacerlo solo. Después de encontrar un cristal mágico (o algún tipo de cristal), Zak consigue la ayuda de la antropóloga Annie y sus amigas Melissa y Leslie. Entre los cuatro personajes (todos los cuales controlas), puedes destruir los dispositivos atontadores y salvar la tierra. No está mal para un periodista sensacionalista!
