Allemand Final Fantasy V Advance verbindet komplexe Heldenfiguren mit bekannten Themen und einer aufregenden Story. Die Spieler begleiten ihren Helden auf eine spannende Abenteuerreise: Bartz, seinen befreundeten Choboco, die junge Prinzessin Lenna, den amnesiekranken Galuf und den Piratenkapitän Faris. Es gilt, die Zerstörung der vier Kristalle zu verhindern, die ihre Welt zusammen halten. Unter ständigen Gefahren im Kampf gegen einen mächtigen Zauberer müssen sie all ihre Kräfte aufbieten, damit ihre Welt nicht ausgelöscht wird.

Die Spieler durchstreifen gemeinsam mit ihren virtuellen Freunden eine weitläufige Fantasy-Welt. Sie besuchen Städte, tauschen sich mit anderen Spielfiguren aus, bekämpfen Monster und tun alles, was in ihrer Macht steht, um das Rätsel der Kristalle zu lösen. Mit jedem erfolgreich bestandenen Kampf gewinnen ihre Helden Erfahrungspunkte, durch die sie höhere Stufen erreichen und noch stärker werden. Und ihre Kampfkraft wächst zusätzlich durch immer mächtigere Waffen und Rüstungen, die sie im Verlauf ihrer Reise finden. Ein völlig neuer Dungeon mit 30 Ebenen und exklusiven neuen Items ist dabei ein besonderes Highlight.

Français Le monde vivait dans la paix et la prospérité grâce aux quatre cristaux élémentaires, du moins jusqu'à ce qu'une force obscure et maléfique ne décide de s'en prendre aux quatre joyaux magiques commandant aux éléments, en commençant par détruire le cristal du vent du royaume de Tycoon.

Le régent de ce royaume ayant péri en tentant de le protéger, il demanda à Blartz (un aventurier en chocobo), Faris (le chef d'une bande de pirates), Galuf (un vieil amnésique retrouvé au pied d'une météorite qui venait de s'écraser tout près du temple du vent où se trouvait le cristal) ainsi qu'à Lenna, sa propre fille, de protéger les trois autres cristaux.

Pour cela, les quatre héros se virent octroyer de prodigieux pouvoirs grâce aux fragments du cristal du vent. Sous leur nouvelle bannière de guerriers de la Lumière, ils eurent pour lourde tâche de faire barrage aux forces obscures, à défaut de connaître l'identité du tireur de ficelles.
