Anglais 2010: The Text Adventure Game is the second game based on the 1984 science fiction film 2010: The Year We Make Contact after the console game 2010: The Graphic Action Game. The player takes the role of a major in the United States Space Corps, a member of the expedition sent to investigate the fate of the Discovery space ship. The problem is that Discovery is close to crashing into Jupiter's moon Io and the player has to travel to it in a Russian exploration vessel called the Leonov. The task up ahead is to board the Discovery and repair it before the gravitational forces of Io pull it away.

Français 2010 : The Text Adventure Game est le deuxième jeu basé sur le film de science-fiction de 1984 "2010 : L'Année du premier contact", après le jeu sur console "2010 : The Graphic Action Game". Le joueur incarne un major de l'United States Space Corps, membre de l'expédition envoyée pour enquêter sur le sort du vaisseau spatial Discovery. Le problème est que Discovery est sur le point de s'écraser sur Io, la lune de Jupiter, et le joueur doit s'y rendre à bord d'un vaisseau d'exploration russe appelé Leonov. La tâche qui l'attend consiste à monter à bord de Discovery et à le réparer avant que les forces gravitationnelles d'Io ne l'entraînent loin.
