Allemand Tales of the Tempest, der erste Tales-Titel für den DS, handelt von Caius, einem Jungen mit der Fähigkeit, die Bestie in sich zu entfesseln, und seiner Suche nach seinen wahren Eltern. Das Spiel wird in 3D präsentiert und verwendet ein Kampfsystem, das dem von Tales of Rebirth ähnelt. Feinde und Verbündete sind alle auf 3 Linien verteilt, zwischen denen der Spieler nach Belieben wechseln kann. Der Touchscreen kann für Spezialangriffe verwendet werden, die es in der Tales-Reihe noch nie gegeben hat, und ermöglicht so viel mehr Abwechslung im Kampf. Die große Besonderheit dieses Spiels ist die Möglichkeit für bestimmte Charaktere, sich in Werwölfe zu verwandeln, die auf Kosten der Techniken zusätzliche Kraft und Geschwindigkeit erlangen.

Anglais Tales of the Tempest, the first Tales title for the DS concerns Caius, a boy with the ability to unleash the beast inside him, and his quest to find his true parents. The game is presented in 3D and uses a battle system similar to Tales of Rebirth. Enemies and allies are all on 3 lines, with the player switching between them at will. The Touch Screen may be used for special attacks never before seen in the Tales series, allowing lots more variety in battle. The big feature of this game is the ability for certain characters to transform into werewolves, gaining extra power and speed at the cost of techniques.

El juego se presenta en 3D y utiliza un sistema de batalla similar a Tales of Rebirth. Los enemigos y aliados están todos en 3 líneas, y el jugador cambia entre ellos a voluntad. La pantalla táctil se puede usar para ataques especiales nunca antes vistos en la serie Tales, lo que permite mucha más variedad en la batalla. La gran característica de este juego es la capacidad de ciertos personajes para transformarse en hombres lobo, ganando poder y velocidad extra a costa de las técnicas.
