Allemand Nemesis 2 (Gradius 2 in Japan) ist ein seitlich scrollender Shoot-em-up. Das Gameplay ist größtenteils ähnlich wie bei Gradius. Das vom Spieler gesteuerte Schiff kann zwischen drei Hauptwaffen wechseln: Rakete, Double und Laser. Zusätzliche Waffen wie verschiedene Arten von Lasern, Napalm-Raketen, Reflexring und Rückstrahl können als Power-Ups gesammelt und ausgerüstet werden. Darüber hinaus können spezielle Power-Ups erworben werden, deren Wirkung von der Verlangsamung der Gegner bis hin zur kurzzeitigen Verwandlung des Metalion in eine unbesiegbare bohrerähnliche Maschine reicht. Auf die Bosskämpfe folgen optionale Mini-Etappen, die dem Spieler bei erfolgreichem Abschluss neue Waffen gewähren.

Anglais In the year 6664 Dr. Venom, the director of the Space Science Agency, was exiled to the planet Sard for his involvement in a failed rebellion and illegal scientific activities. One year later, he joined forces with the Bacterion invaders, escaped Sard, and took control of the space surrounding the planet Gradius. In 6666, the local government sends Colonel James Burton on the newest hyperspace fighter known as Metalion. The goal is clear: stop Dr. Venom and the Bacterion army before they conquer the planet.

Nemesis 2 (Gradius 2 in Japan) is a side-scrolling shoot-em-up. The gameplay is for the most part similar to that of Gradius. The player-controlled ship can alternate between three main weapons: Missile, Double, and Laser. Extra weapons such as various types of lasers, napalm missiles, reflex ring, and back beam can be collected as power-ups and equipped. In addition, special power-ups can be acquired, their effects ranging from slowing down enemies to turning the Metalion into an invincible drill-like machine for a brief amount of time. Boss battles are followed by optional mini-stages, which grant the player new weapons if completed successfully.

Nemesis 2 (Gradius 2 en Japón) es un shoot-em-up de desplazamiento lateral. La jugabilidad es muy similar a la de Gradius. Tu nave puede alternar entre tres armas principales: Misil, Doble y Láser. Las armas adicionales pueden recogerse como potenciadores y equiparse. Además se pueden adquirir potenciadores especiales, que pueden ralentizar a los enemigos o convertir el Metalion en una máquina invencible durante un breve período de tiempo. Las batallas finales son seguidas por mini etapas opcionales que otorgan al jugador nuevas armas si se completan con éxito.

Français Gradius: The Interstellar Assault (ou Nemesis II: Return of the Hero ) est le deuxième jeu Gradius pour Game Boy. C'est peut-être le seul jeu Gradius qui n'a pas les têtes Moai. Une version en couleur du jeu se trouve sur Konami GB Collection Volume 3 pour le Japon et Volume 4 pour l'Europe.
